The 'Other' Church

The Anglican Church is still ripping itself apart. After 500 years they have finally officially agreed that women can be ordained as priests (although it won't actually happen any earlier than 2018). But the Gay issue is tearing at the very fabric of the church's constitution.

With the Bible as both sword and shield both sides fight it out in a very un-english way in public brawls and even in their own churches. This week the openly Gay bishop, the Right Reverend Gene Robinson was heckled in church. Of course the congregation responded by singing a hymn whilst he was removed.

Conservatives have never been able to use the Bible to deny the existence of women, just their place in the leadership of the church.
However, the Bible has been very useful over the last few centuries as 'evidence' against the very existence of homosexuality.

In the end, I don't care what the church decides on the subject of Gay Bishops yes or no. I believe that religion as such is anti-humanitarian. However I do care about why they are even discussing the subject.

Religion as excuse for discrimination.

For more examples closer to home see: the Netherlands, Christen Unie, CDA, christian council workers refusal to conduct gay marriages, Amsterdam council cleaning up the Red Light District, Yvette Lont, Amsterdam Council member claiming that homosexuals not be fit for office ....

The Lambeth Conference - Update

The Nigerian Bishops have decided not to attend the Anglican Church's 10 yearly conference in Lambeth this year because of their disgust at the ordination of openly Gay U.S. Bishop Gene Robinson in 2003, and the continuing practice of the blessing of same-sex couples in the Anglican Church.

The Archbishop of Sydney, Australia made the same decision earlier this month and the Kenyans followed suit last thursday, followed closely by the Ugandan Bishops. Rwanda had already pledged their alliance to the African Council of Churches and will also not be attending.

Added to this the American Diocese' that have split from the Anglican Church and allied themselves with the African Churches and it will mean that more than 30 million members, less than 50% of the Anglican Church will be represented.

What does this all mean to me? I hear you ask.

Just this. The Anglican Church is not as showy as the Catholic Church but does have enormous power politically in America (of course) and the emerging countries of West Africa. That this huge organisation is pulling itself apart, and has been doing so for the last 5 years is a sign on the
wall. Polarisation is inevitable, and apparent.

Expect the anti-Gay backlash to come from the church, not the state.

Pope Benedict XVI

.

The New Year's Mass at St. Peter's Basilica. The 80-year-old pope, dressed in ornate white and gold vestment, waved and smiled from his studio window to pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square.

In his speech Benedict returned to his favourite topic: Traditional family, marriage between a man and a woman.

"Mankind is a big family", and family is the "first and irreplaceable educator of peace," Benedict said.

The remarks were in line with a strong Vatican campaign under Benedict for the protection of the traditional family and against proposals to extend rights to gay couples or other unions outside traditional marriage.
Taking an aggressive position in two overwhelmingly Roman Catholic countries, the Vatican has decried attempts by Italy's center-left government to give legal status to de-facto couples and denounced the Spanish social government for passing legislation recognizing gay marriage and facilitating divorce.

"Whoever, even unknowingly, circumvents the institution of the family undermines peace in the entire community, national and international, since he weakens what is in effect the primary agency of peace,"

This is the Pope (without actually using the word Homosexual) accusing Gay people of undermining community, national and international peace. He, and therefore the Catholic Church, puts Gay people, us, up for grabs. Officially declaring us a valid, acceptable and desirable target in the fight for peace.

Just in case you didn't get the drift of the above:

The Catholic Church has just declared war on anyone who (whether they know it or not) does not support the traditional family as proscribed by the Catholic Church.

p.s. the Pope called his speech 'The Gift of Peace'

God is Geil

Where this obsession with religion has come from that has engulfed me the last few weeks I have no idea

The Last Days? The Reckoning? The Rapture?

I doubt it very strongly.

What I do see is an enormous threat from the US through African, mainly Kenyan, Churches to restore power to the Protestant Church in the world.

The Pope has been working his side of the pond for years, using the last Heavenly Father as a front for the RC's money making tactics.
The Evangelicals have been waiting, plotting, preparing for this for years.

Multi-Nationals, or more correctly Multi-Globals are deeply threatened by consumer behaviour at the moment and have left themselves wide open to attack and abuse.
And, yes, I sound paranoid.

But when I see that in what was the most liberal country in the world, the Netherlands, that politicians dare to speak out against dirty homosexuals and their horrible sin, then that must be writing on the wall.

There´s a religious backlash coming and we must be aware of it at least.

And who is ´we´?

I´m afraid that the target group is much broader than gays alone. Gay males are always one of the guaranteed ´red buttons´ in elections and such ..... but there are more ....´abortion´, ´marriage´, ´immigration´, ´sex offenders´, ´sex education´, ´healthcare´ etc .....

For example ....Just how long will it take for the Government to decide who is responsible for their own diseases and present the treatment bill to the patient?

JudaChristIslamisme in Politieke Amsterdam

Kenya - Home of Radical Fundamentalists

The consecration by Archbishop Benjamin Nzimbi of the Kenya Anglican Church of two US bishops raises the temperature of the rancorous dispute over acceptance of gay and lesbian people as bishops dividing the two wings of the 70 million-strong Global Anglican Church:

But what Kenya's Archbishop Benjamin Nzimbi has done is not simply about homosexuality.

It goes to the heart of the way the Anglican Church sees itself.
Anglicans, like Catholic and Orthodox Christians, cherish the unity of their Church above almost everything else.
And the focus of unity is the bishop.
A very large part of the reason for having bishops at all is to give physical form to the Church's unity.
Symbolically, emotionally and in most of the ways that matter to believers, bishops are there to show that the Church remains united.
Heading for anarchy?
So when one bishop (in this case Dr Nzimbi) acts in a way that undercuts the authority of another bishop, it is the clearest possible way of emphasising the Church's disunity.

The Radical Fundamentalist Anglican Church in the West is using the Kenyan situation as a springboard towards creating a separate church within a church in the United States and beyond.

A Church with a capital 'C'

'C' as in Conservatism, Class discrimination, Cruelty .... you get the picture.
